We've been asked to forward another reminder to complete the 2020 Census as the Ross community has one of the lower self-response rates in Marin. It takes less than 5 minutes to complete the Census online.
Dear Ross Residents,
The 2020 Census count is underway. The current response rate for the Town of Ross is only 57.4%, which is almost 20% behind the County average. It is critical that everyone in town is counted to ensure adequate representation and our fair share of funding. If you have already responded, thank you. If you still need to, you can fill out the survey online in under 15 minutes by going to www.census.gov. Alternatively, you can mail in the paper questionnaire sent to you in late March or call (844) 330-2020 to take the survey over the phone. Beginning August 11th, census takers will be going door-to-door to households that have not responded.

What’s at stake in the 2020 Census? Being undercounted deprives the residents of towns, cities, counties and states equal political representation and public and private resources. The state estimates that for each person missed in the count California will lose $1,000 per person per year for 10 years in federal funding. Over the next 10 years that will add up to millions of tax dollars that will not come back to the local community for schools, roads, hospitals and other essential services.
You can complete the Census online, over the phone, or by mail.
