KIDS & FAMILIES

We're a welcoming place for children, teens, and families of all kinds. We offer opportunities for kids and youth to explore faith and give back.

INFANTS & TODDLERS

Come in, come in and sit down! You are a part of the family.

Every week in worship we “sing the children forward” for the Sermon on the Steps with these words: “You are a part of the family!”  We welcome families with infants and toddlers to remain in worship, with their “wiggles and giggles."

Our nursery is currently suspended in response to COVID-19 health and safety requirements. Children are welcome in worship, and we provide activity packets and a "kid-friendly" row with soft toys and books for children.

K-5th GRADE

"Play is our brain's favorite way of learning."

Diane Ackerman, author and poet

Three Sundays of each month, children from kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to Godly Play at about 10:15, following the Sermon from the Steps (our children’s time in the sanctuary). In the careful telling of stories from the Bible or about the Christian calendar and church sacraments, and sharing of wondering questions, adults help children develop a language to express what they already know about God.  In the process, adults learn something, too.

YOUTH

Creating opportunities for our young people to love and serve.

Our youth come together in fellowship and community with one another and share in asking questions and exploring faith in new ways. Of course, they get together for fun too – game night, trips to the House of Air, that sort of thing.

But the heart of our youth ministry is providing opportunities to practice love for neighbor, self, the earth and God through service. They have helped build homes in Mexico and Gulfport, Louisiana and serve locally at the Fairfax Community Food Bank. The first Saturday of the month is Service Saturday.
