Please feel free to join us in the prayers prayed Sunday, February 22, 2026:

Loving Christ, we love to imagine you at that wedding,

your throat hoarse from laughing, feet tired from dancing.

As you turn water into wine,

we love to imagine how ordinary folks would continue feasting,

delighting in a world where everyone has enough.

We love to think of how this is how your ministry began –

rejecting power over,

and embracing power with and for your whole creation.

For all the ways you show us

how to live out of the fullness of our humanity,

we give you thanks and praise.

We live, though in a world that seems to run out of joy.

The news is a rotating blur of heartache.

Our hearts carry fear and grief, and anxiety and loss.

And so we play for all the hurt in the world.

For those living in the midst of war, peace with justice,

an end to genocide in Gaza,

an end to war in Ukraine.

We pray for a world we have damaged to the point of collapse;

teach us ways of healing and repair;

show us how to live faithfully and with compassion

in the new realities we have brought about.

We pray for those who are hungry, food enough and more.

For those who are unhoused, and for migrating neighbors,

safe shelter.

For those who are ailing, healing.

For those who are lonely, companionship.

For those who grieve, comfort.

On the longest nights, remind us that we are never alone.

When joy wears think, remind us that you call us by name.

When hope flickers, remind us that you hear our prayers.

And when the weight of the world feels too heavy,

remind us that the heart of the gospel really is good news.

Until that promised day, when all creation will once again feast with you,

we will continue to join our voices, with the voices of all who have called on you,

praying with one voice the prayer you taught us to pray, saying:

Our Father/Mother, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
