Prayers for the Week of July 19, 2026

Please feel free to join us in the prayers prayed Sunday, July 19, 2026:

Loving God,

we bring to you the concerns of our heart,

trusting that you are near,

trusting in your great love

for each of us and for the whole world in Jesus Christ.

We pray for those who are ailing in body or spirit, for healing.

For those who are hungry, food enough and more.

For those who are unhoused, for refugees and immigrants, safe shelter.

For those who are lonely, companionship.

For those who grieve, your comfort and peace.

In a world filled with war, we pray for peace.

We pray for peace in Ukraine, and in Gaza,

we pray for an end to genocide.

We pray that our own nation will stop its warring madness,

that you will bring peace, and stop every kind of violence, including our own.

We pray that you will raise up for us leaders

who lead with wisdom, and compassion, and courage.

We pray for an end to systems that oppress,

particularly systemic American racism.

Stop us in any way that we are complicit.

Help us learn from those who have been harmed the most,

dismantle systems that harm,

and rebuild together systems that enable all people to live free and thrive.

We pray healing for the damage we continue to do to the Earth.

Help us to speak plainly and honestly about climate unravelling,

and to discover new ways of living in mutuality with all creation.

You are a God of grace and peace,

your grace abounds,

you are always beginning again,

with the hope that your love for the whole world in Jesus Christ,

might come to life fully in us.

Thank you for your patience with us – for your mercy and your grace.

You are near.

In every circumstance, and no matter the distance,

we are in this together, and so with all who have ever called on you,

we join our voices with theirs, praying the prayer that Jesus taught, saying:

Our Father/Mother, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
