Please feel free to join us in the prayers prayed in worship Sunday, June 22, 2025:
Loving God, we come to you,
listening for your presence,
in the sound of sheer silence,
while around the world, bombs fall,
and creation laments.
Out of that lament, we turn to the words of St Francis:
God make us an instruments of your peace:
where there is hatred, help us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
Empower us with the imagination, courage, and grit,
to imagine a world filled with
peace that ends all violence and war,
justice stronger than every harm,
freedom beyond all oppression,
and healing for every hurt.
We join our lament, our longing ,and our prayer,
with the lament, longing, and prayers of every one
in every time and place,
who has ever called on you, praying the prayer that Jesus taught, praying:
Our Father/Mother, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
