Please feel free to join us in the prayers prayed Sunday, September 28, 2025:

Gracious God,

in your steadfast love,

you created all that is,

and you have accompanied your creation from the beginning,

steadily moving your world

toward freedom, healing, and peace.

Though each day brings its own challenge and surprise,

you are the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Living life with you, day in and day out,

morning by morning, new mercies we see.

We give you thanks and praise.

Our days are full of challenge.

We pray for the earth in an era of climate unravelling.

Where our leaders, retreat from truth,

and lie, saying that nothing is wrong,

help us speak the truth that we continue to damage the earth

with our wasting ways.

Help us to stop,

to learn to live with clear-eyed honesty

in the realities we have created,

and to help repair what can yet be healed.

We know that around the world

your children suffer in the midst of war,

and so we pray for peace.

We pray for an end to the wars on Ukraine and Gaza.

We pray for the restoration of all the things needed for life –

access to food and water and medical care,

for a return of hostages,

for peace with justice for all people.

We pray for the leaders of all nations, including our own,

we pray that they might be just.

Fill them with wisdom and compassion.

End every policy of aggression,

dismantle every system of oppression,

Empower and help us to turn the world rightside up with you.

And, morning by morning, evening by evening, night by night,

we pray for the ordinary and not-so-ordinary

daily needs of all people.

For those who are far from home and for those who are unhoused,

we pray for safe shelter.

For those who are hungry,  food enough and more.

For those who are lonely, the companionship of kindred spirits.

For those who are ailing in body or spirit, healing.

For those who grieve, comfort,

and for all people, love and life and tender mercy.

We thank you for the gift of community and of living life together.

With each other, and with everyone in every time and place

who has ever called on you,

we join our voices to their voices,

praying the prayer that Jesus taught saying:

Our Father/Mother, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
