Please feel free to join us in the prayers prayed Sunday, May 10, 2026:

Loving God,

in you we live, and move, and have our being.

You have created all that is,

and you are close at hand.

In Jesus Christ, you have entered into the fullness of life,

with a love more powerful than any power, even death,

and in Resurrection,

you continue to bring your creation into new life.

In you and with you,

we are alive in the world,

and we give you thanks and praise.

Help us to know you better.

Help us to choose your ways

over ways that distract and harm.

Help us to live the life of Jesus,

tending and mending the world you love so much.

We pray for help in all that is bewildering in this world.

In a world filled with war, we pray for peace,

peace with justice.

We pray for an end to every kind of violence.

Help us to see ourselves as an interconnected part of your creation,

called to live in healthy relationship with all beings.

Help us become more aware of the harm that we have done to the planet,

so that we might better engage the work of repair,

learning to live into the new realities that we have already set in motion,

and helping to heal what we can.

We pray for an end to every system that oppresses,

and particularly American systemic racism.

We have seen in recent weeks how tenuous and fragile

the progress toward justice can be.

Gird our lives with humility and courage,

that we might continue to listen to those who have been harmed the most,

and join them in dismantling injustice,

and re-building a world where every child can live and thrive.

We pray for the deep need of the world, and the needs we see close at hand.

For all who are hungry, food enough and more.

For those ailing in body or spirit, healing.

For those who are grieving, comfort.

You have created us for life in community,

and this morning, we give thanks,

especially for mothers and all who bring love, care, and compassion in the world.

Standing together in community and solidarity, with all who have ever called on you,

in every time and place,

we pray the prayer that Jesus taught, saying:

Our Father/Mother, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
