Prayers for the Week of July 13, 2025

Please feel free to join us in the prayers prayed in worship Sunday, July 13, 2025:

Loving God,

in the beginning,

your Spirit hovered over the waters of creation,

and breathed life into all that is,

and you called all that you had made good.

From the beginning, you have never left us alone.

You are near – as near to us as breath,

and the beating of our own heart.

We give you thanks and praise.

We give you thanks for all the blessings of our lives,

and we lift to you the concerns of our hearts --

praying for peace with justice,

in every place where there is violence, injustice, and war;

for all those who are hungry, food enough and more;

for those who are unhoused and migrating, safe shelter;

for those who are lonely, companionship;

for those who grieve comfort;

for those who are ailing in body or spirit,

for all those who are hurting,

for the earth we have damaged to the point of unravelling,

we pray for your healing touch.

And in all these prayers,

we ask that you show us how we can help you make it so.

All the love we have learned and experienced in you,

help us put all that into practice in the lives we lead.

We thank you for the great company

of all those who have ever called on you in every time and place,

and with them, we pray the prayer that Jesus taught, saying:

Our Father/Mother, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
