We are an open and inclusive congregation where all are welcome to worship and serve as full participants in our community. We welcome people of every class, race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic orientation, and physical condition.
We are open and welcoming to the rich diversity of families in the Bay Area, and hope that all aspects of our life and service together reflect our commitment to inclusion and justice.
For many years we have worked for the full inclusion of all people in the national Presbyterian Church (USA). In recent years, First Presbyterian (along with Redwoods Presbytery) has initiated motions in the national PC(USA) General Assembly to make clear that service in the church includes everyone, and to specifically remove any barriers to the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people.
We hope that our life together and our work for justice embody our commitment that “Together We Serve” includes each and every one of us.
