Lent 2018

Lent is the season when we are invited to devote 6 weeks — one tenth or a tithe of the year — to recovering, remembering, and practicing the presence of God.

This Lent, we are exploring practices that restore and equip us for the journey, that help us encounter God in ourselves, others, nature and the world around us, and that help sustain us and give us hope.

Nearly anything we do can be a spiritual practice if it is done prayerfully and with the intention of growing in love for neighbor, self, God or God’s creation.  As the poet Rumi said, “There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.”  These practices are just a very small sampling of the endless possibilities.  They are offered for you to try, but also to inspire you to think outside the box to develop your own spiritual practices.

If you would like some suggestions about spiritual practices you can try, use the form below to sign up for a short daily email.
