The Service for Wholeness and Healing
A significant part of Christ’s ministry was healing. “Wholeness and healing” in the Christian tradition includes healing from emotional scars, healing for our planet, reconciliation between people and nations, healing of the broken aspects of our culture and shalom for all people – well-being, safety, fulfillment and peace – as well as physical healing.
First Presbyterian Church’s service for wholeness and healing is a quiet, candlelit, half-hour-long service of prayer and music. Toward the end of the service, those who desire it may participate in anointing and laying on of hands – actions which are symbolic of the power of the Christian fellowship to transform our lives.
The service for wholeness and healing is the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m., in the sanctuary … and all are welcome.
